Chamisa drops spokesman Tamborinyoka; hires UK-based academic

MDC-T president Nelson Chamisa has dropped spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka and replaced him with UK-based academic Dr Nkululeko Sibanda with immediate effect.

The change was confirmed in a statement issued by the MDC-T leader’s chief of staff Sesel Zvidzai on Tuesday.

No reasons were given for the removal of Tamborinyoka who also served as spokesman for the party’s late founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

Tamborinyaka, who is running for parliament, was also the MDC-T’s director of communications. It remains unclear whether the former journalist retains the latter job.

In other developments, former legislator Jameson Timba was appointed Chamisa’s chief election agent.

Meanwhile, several regional and international representatives were also appointed for the opposition party.

They are as follows;

Ms Grace Kwinjeh, Representative to Brussels and European Union.

Mr. Driden Kunaka, Representative to Australia

Yvonne Mahlunge, Representative to the United Kingdom

Ralph Black – Party Representative to the United States of America (USA)

Mr. Austin Moyo, Party representative to the Republic of South Africa

Mr. Mathula Lusinga Party representative African Union (AU), East Africa and Central Africa

Mr. Elliot Pfebve, Business Trade Attaché Europe, Ireland and United Kingdom.
