IMPRESSIVE Warriors winger Kudakwashe Mahachi, better known as ‘Nkembe’, by his fans and peers is wary of Mali ahead of their quarterfinal match in the ongoing Chan tournament in South Africa.
Mahachi, who is known to take on defenders at will, alluded to the fact that the West Africans were a strong side with very talented players, but in the same breath promised to give them a run for their money in what he described as the “game of his life”.
“The game against Mali will definitely be very tough, but we are determined to give our best. The West Africans are known for their consistency but I believe we have the calibre of players who can cause an upset at the highest level.”
“It has not been an easy run but we thank God all went well and we managed to qualify as the only southern African side in the competition. I know it will not be easy, but we want to give a 100 per cent and play as a unit. We will leave the rest to God,” Mahachi told supersport.com.
Mahachi has been one of the most impressive players in the 2014 Chan tournament and his sublime performance against Gabon cemented PSL side Mamelodi Sundowns’ interest in him as he is expected to be snapped up by the ‘Brazilians’.
Twenty-year-old Mahachi played for Zimbabwean outfit Chicken Inn last season and has been a revelation in South Africa, earning rave reviews and interests from many teams.
