THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane as the venue for Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals set for this weekend.
The Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals have been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday with both semi-finals to be staged at Mandva Stadium.
According to the fixtures released by the PSL, ZPC Kariba will take to the field first against Harare City on Saturday for the right to play in the final with Dynamos facing off Chapungu in another semi-final tie the following day.
Dynamos saw off defending champions FC Platinum 7-6 in sudden death penalty after the two teams had remained tied 0-0 in regulation time.
That victory earned them a place in the last four and although they still stand a very good chance of winning the championship which will be a record five successive seasons, the Chibuku Super Cup is being discussed as one of the major priorities.
Dynamos have always found Chapungu difficult opponents to break down.
The Airforce side has a strong Dynamos influence with a number of players who have played for the Glamour Boys now on the books of the Gweru side.
Some of the players who featured for Dynamos before crossing the floor to join Chapungu include veteran forward Philip Marufu, Patrick Khumbula, Allan Tavarwisa and Tinei Chitora.
It is against this background that meetings between these two sides have always been feisty.
ZPC Kariba, who have been struggling for fluency under Sunday Chidzambwa have regained form and on 12th position from the bottom are a safe bet to avoid relegation by the end the campaign.
And the veteran coach would also be looking to cap the season with some silverware and a win over Harare City on Saturday will augur well for his dream.
Chidzambwa’s men thumped How Mine 3-0 to reach the semi-finals while Harare City clobbered Triangle 5-0 to book a semi-final place.Advertisement
