Chibuku Super Cup double headers for NSS

Spread This News

THE Chibuku Super Cup quarterfinals will be staged at the National Sports Stadium, as double headers, on Saturday and Sunday and will be broadcast live by SuperSport.
Premier Soccer League chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele confirmed that all the four matches involving the last eight teams, will be played as double headers to facilitate easier coverage by
their broadcast partners.
“After the workshop we held with SuperSport, we have decided that for easy coverage of the games we have more double headers.
“The quarter-finals will all be played at the National Sports Stadium with double headers on Saturday and Sunday. This is also good for the sponsor’s mileage,” Ndebele said.
Top of the bill of the matches is defending champions FC Platinum, who face Dynamos on Sunday at 3:30pm a week after they thumped the Harare side 3-1 in a league match at Mandava.
This will be the fourth meeting of the two teams this season after Dynamos won the reverse league fixture 1-0 in Harare in April.
Platinum then won the Independence Trophy by default after Dynamos refused to play in the replay after the initial match had been abandoned in the 67th minute with DeMbare leading 1-0 after a power cut.
The Harare giants will be looking for quick sweet revenge while Platinum, aiming to successfully defend their crown, have been playing some of their best football after a rocky start to their 2015
campaign.
This match will be preceded by the ZPC Kariba-How Mine game at 1pm.
PSL leaders Chicken Inn, who seem unstoppable at this stage of the season, date Chapungu at 1pm on Saturday followed by the Triangle-Harare City clash at 3.30pm.
Triangle won the One Wallet Cup last season when they beat Dynamos in the final and will be looking at adding their second trophy into the cabinet after just three years in the top flight.
