Chicken Inn defence exposed in Zambia

CHICKEN Inn’s defensive frailties were once again exposed after falling down 2-0 to Zambian champions Zesco United on Wednesday to end the 2016 international invitational tournament winless.
The Bulawayo side conceded seven goals in three matches in this tournament in which they also drew 2-2 with Zanaco in their first match before succumbing 3-1 to Tanzania’s Azam.
This saw Joey Antipas’ men returning home with just a point.
But most worrying for Antipas is the rate at his side conceded goals ahead of their Caf Champions League preliminary round, first leg match against South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns next week.
While they missed center back Lawrence Mhlanga who was with the Warriors at Chan, Antipas tried defending combinations between Ben Nyahunzvi, Moses Jackson, Guide Goddard and Passmore Bernard.
But Chicken Inn were still porous as they failed to contain their foreign opponents.
Captain Danny Phiri and Teenage Hadebe also did not travel to Zambia due to injuries.Advertisement
