Chidzambwa takes on Dynamos for the first time at Rufaro Tough start to life under new coach … The ZPC Kariba first eleven last weekend

SUNDAY Chidzambwa will this weekend, for the first time ever, face his former club Dynamos when he leads ZPC Kariba for a league match at Rufaro Stadium.
The veteran coach had an illustrious playing career at Dynamos in the 1980s before coaching the Harare giants in various spells.
His last dance with Dynamos was in 1998 when he guided them into the final of the CAF Champions League.
He now returns to face his former club for the first time ever, after having last coached them in the PSL 16 years ago.
Chidzambwa has been struggling in the league in which his four games in charge of ZPC Kariba has yielded three losses and a draw.
He however struck the right note last Sunday in the Chibuku Super Cup when ZPC Kariba booted Caps United out of the competition via penalty shootouts following a 2-2 regulation time draw.
“I think it is coming up and the team is shaping up,” Chidzambwa.
“We are getting there slowly. The new signings have been excellent so far and we are facing a bright future.
“I am looking forward to a bright future and things must start going well for us in the league starting next weekend.”
Known for his game being emphasised on defending, Chidzambwa fielded three centre backs against Caps in Thomas Sweswe, George Magariro and Dennis Dauda.
“I love a solid defence. I try by all means to have a team that does not concede,” he said.
Chidzambwa watched Dynamos play against ZPC Kariba in the league reverse fixture before he was appointed into his new job.
