SOUTH African premiership club Kaizer Chiefs have placed a not for sale sign on Zimbabwe international midfielder Willard Katsande who has been linked with German teams, among them Bundesliga side Hamburg.
Katsande’s contract with Kaizer Chiefs runs out at the end of June.
However, according to Kick Off, Chiefs insist they will hang onto the Zimbabwean midfielder rated one of the best in the South African premiership.
Katsande’s agent Edzai Kasinauyo will also start weighing up the player’s options soon, with many clubs expected to come knocking on the door of the Soweto giants.
But Chiefs are not willing to part with Katsande and Lucky Baloyi who is believed to be wanted by AmaZulu and maintain it will be “very difficult” for any club to lure them from Naturena.
“These two players (Baloyi and Katsande) are very important to the club so it will be very difficult for any team to take them from the club,” Chiefs’ corporate communications manager Vina Maphosa said.
“The official position of the club is that Baloyi and Katsande are not for sale. Actually, we are not talking to any clubs at the moment,” he added. Unlike Katsande, Baloyi’s contract with the club will only run out at the end of June 2015.
Katsande is a key member of the Warriors and played in Zimbabwe’s last World Cup qualifier against Mozambique which ended in a goalless draw.Advertisement
