WILLARD Katsande feels the current international break could not have come at a better time for Kaizer Chiefs, with the two weeks off affording their injured players time to recover.
The Premier Soccer League has been put on hold to accommodate the round of FIFA fixtures, including the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, which reaches its climax on Wednesday.
The Premiership does, however, resume this coming weekend, with Amakhosi looking to add to their 11-point lead at the top of the standings when they host defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
And Zimbabwe international Katsande is expecting the Glamour Boys to be fit and firing come this weekend’s kick off.
He told Soccer Laduma: “I think it was good we had this break. For us it helped us recover from the injuries we had in the team.
“I think by the weekend we will have a full squad to play against Mamelodi Sundowns and that’s why I am saying the break helped us recover.
“It’s good we had the break.”
