FORMER Dynamos midfielder Ronald Chitiyo is angling to join ambitious Harare side Harare City on a short term deal after returning from South Africa.
Chitiyo, who helped Dynamos to a fourth successive championship last season after joining from Monomotapa on a year one deal, did not renew his contract with the champions opting to try his luck in South Africa.
His display in Dynamos colours had attracted the attention of South Africa National First Division side Royal Eagles.
He is reported to have signed a pre-contract with the South African club and is set to join them in the next transfer window in July.
In the meantime, Chitiyo wants to keep himself in shape and could be playing for Harare City until he returns to South Africa.
His manager Edzai Kasinauyo said there was nothing concrete at the moment but confirmed talks were underway with Harare City and there was a possibility of him playing for them before a deal is struck with the South African club.
“He has signed a pre-contract with Royal Eagles and he is here. There is nothing concrete at the moment, but talks are going on,” said Kasinauyo.
Harare City are currently in Nyanga where they are conducting their pre-season preparations.
They have already signed several stars including former Caps United players-goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube, Tendai Samanja, Honey Chimutimunzeve, Nicholas Alifandika and Themba Ndlovu from Dynamos among other stars.Advertisement
