THERE will be no body viewing for businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Lulu, after their bodies were severely fragmented in the helicopter crash that claimed their lives, the family has said.
Speaking to mourners who had gathered at the deceased’s residence Friday evening, family spokesperson Hebert Chivayo said the remains of the couple were dismembered in the accident, with their heads separated from their torsos.
“Their body parts were scattered everywhere, and their heads were cut off from their torsos.
“That accident really scared us. Even when we do the burial, we are not going to have a body viewing,” he said.
He said forensic experts were still conducting DNA tests to identify and separate the remains before the family can proceed with burial arrangements.
The burial date is yet to be announced.
Chivayo, who was declared a provincial hero by President Emmerson Mnangagwa following his death, died alongside his wife and other passengers when their helicopter crashed in rural Marondera on Wednesday.
