HARARE City have vowed to defend their Chibuku Super Cup when they face off FC Platinum in the semi-finals on Saturday.
The Sunshine City Boys coach Moses Chunga expressed confidence his team would progress to the final.
“We are going there (Mandava) with a positive mind. We are the cup holders and our aim is to go to the final and defend the trophy. We know we beat them 2-1in the league but that is now history,” said Chunga.
“What is important is how we apply ourselves on Saturday. It’s also a different platform because cup games are different from league games; so this is a completely different match,” he added.
The Harare City coach announced a strong 18 men squad with captain Arnold Chivheya, Tafadzwa Dube and Munyaradzi Nyenye all returning to the team after missing the last games due to varying reasons.
On Sunday, Elroy Akbay’s nine match unbeaten run comes under scrutiny when Highlanders face Tonderai Ndiraya’s Ngezi Platinum Stars at Babourfields Stadium in another semi-final.
A win for Highlanders could put them in a very strong position to win a league and cup double.
Bosso are in second place on the league with one point behind leaders Caps United who are on 54 points with only three matches left in the campaign.Advertisement
