KAIZER Chiefs are interested in signing, a player who has a significant surname in their history with his club owner confirming interest.

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be chasing the services of Zimbabwean striker, Walter Musona ahead of next season.

Chiefs are making it no secret that they want to boost their attacking department ahead of next season.

Both wingers and central strikers have been included in that category, but may be treated separately.

There has been a plethora of widemen and central strikers who have been linked with a possible move to Chiefs. In terms of central strikers, Iqraam Rayners, Lebo Mothiba, Andy Boyeli have been mentioned regularly.

More recently, the familiar name of Musona has also been thought to be of interest to the club.

The surname Musona, brings fond memories to Chiefs fans, with Walter’s older brother Knowledge a club legend.

The former Zimbabwe international had to successful stints at Naturena, ensuring that he left as an Amakhosi legend.

His brother, also has experience playing in South Africa, having turned out for topflight side Polokwane City in the past.

Although regarded as a threat and as a promising prospect then, Musona was eventually released by City.

This reportedly due to disciplinary issues. But he has since kicked on and seen his name linked with local clubs again.

This time, it is a big one in Chiefs, who this publication reported were interested on Friday.

Now the owner of Musona’s current club Simba Bhora FC, Simba Ndoro has confirmed the interest from Chiefs to Soccer-Laduma.

“Yes, there have been reports like that. I have heard and I know Chiefs want Walter (Musona) but they have not made an official offer yet. They haven’t formally contacted us.

“But you know, if they are willing to pay the money that we want then there is no problem at all. Walter (Musona) is the biggest player in Zimbabwe right now and he is the most expensive player as well but I can’t say how much he will cost until we open the negotiations.” Said Ndoro.

At 28, Chiefs would be getting a Musona who is in his prime. Would this be a good deal?
