Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has likened Khama Billiat to FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, following his sizeable contribution so far this season.
Solinas has showered Billiat with praise as he continued to impress in the colours of Amakhosi during their 2-0 victory over AmaZulu this past weekend.
The Zimbabwean international can account for half of his club’s 18 goals in all competitions this season – scoring five and assisting four thus far.
So telling has his impact been, that his Italian coach is often seen bowing at the former Mamelodi Sundowns star upon leaving the pitch.
Explaining his need to show such respect, Solinas believes the former PSL Footballer of the Season is to Chiefs what five-time FIFA Player of the Year, Messi is to Barca.
“Barcelona plays with 10 players, plus Messi. Kaizer Chiefs play with 10 players, plus Billiat,” said Solinas.
“Billiat is the best player in the PSL. He’s a top class player, in my opinion. Maybe someone disagree, but in my personal opinion, he’s an unbelievable player.
“He’s a player that makes the difference; he’s a player that’s not for the PSL, sorry guys. This player is for Europe.”
