A HARARE woman is being accused of raping a man she offered a lift recently together with her three female suspects.

Esthery Dhliwayo was arraigned before the courts on Friday answering to kidnapping and indecent assault charges. She was ordered to apply for bail at the High Court since she is facing a serious offence.

Dhliwayo’s accomplices are still on the run.

The 34-year-old suspect from Madokero in Harare purportedly committed the offence on February 7 this year.

She was arrested after she transferred $12 from the complainant’s EcoCash account using the phone she allegedly stole after abusing him.

According to prosecutors, on the day in question, Dhliwayo offered the man whose identity is being protected a lift to central Harare.

It is alleged that there were four more people in the Toyota Prado vehicle Dhliwayo was driving.

Court heard that along the way, one of the suspects sprayed an unknown substance on the victim’s face and he became unconscious.

When he woke up, he was in a certain house in Rusape and the accused was in the company of two men and three women who then took turns to have sex with him without his consent.

After abusing the complainant, Dhliwayo forced him to send money to her Econet number 0773 492 445. This assisted investigations after the case was reported leading to Dhliwayo’s arrest.
