PROMINENT music promoter and Star FM radio presenter is in trouble after he allegedly kidnapped a teenage girl and exposed her to drug abuse and liquor for three days.

Simbarashe Maphosa, 40, who is well known as Godfatha Templeman is answering to kidnapping charges and he was remanded out of custody to May 22 when he appeared before Harare magistrate Tilda Mazhande on Friday.

He had been on remand for two weeks after Mazhande ordered him to apply for bail at the High court.

On Friday his case was postponed as his lawyer was attending a family bereavement.

The court heard that the DJ who co-hosts the Dancehall Remedy show on Star FM on Thursdays held the teenager in bondage for three days without the knowledge of her parents.

He allegedly committed the offence between March 29 and 31 this year in Beitbridge.

He purportedly unlawfully detained the complainant whose identity is being protected and deprived her of her freedom.

The court also heard that Maphosa took the girl to Beitbridge without the knowledge of her parents where he spent three days and three nights with her.

Prosecutors also allege that the DJ exposed the complainant to situations where she would consume drugs and liquor.

Linda Gadzikwa appeared for the State.
