Darikwa, Bonne ruled out of Zim-Tanzania clash

ENGLAND based stars Tendai Darikwa and McCauley Bonne have been ruled out of the international friendly against Tanzania at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday as they are still to regularise their documents to enable them to play for Zimbabwe.
Darikwa plays for English Premiership side Burnley while Bonne is on the books of Colchester United. The pair has British passports.
Burnley spokesperson Darren Bentley, responding to emailed questions by NewZimbabwe.com only said: “I can confirm that Tendayi will not be travelling.”
Also ruled out of the clash is Sparta Praha defender, Costa Nhamoinesu who is nursing an injury that has side lined him for over a month.
Maritzburg United duo of striker Evans Rusike and Blessing Moyo have also been ruled out because of injury.
Pasuwa however, said it was an opportunity for other players to come in and show what they can do.
“It is unfortunate that Costa [Nhamoinesu], Evans [Rusike] and Blessing [Moyo] are all out due to injuries as confirmed by their clubs but at the same time this will be an opportunity for other players to get more game time in international matches.”
Pasuwa also spoke about Darikwa and Bonne.
“We really needed them here [Bonne and Darikwa] but it seems they still have some complications with their identification documents which are currently being sorted out.
“We are looking forward to having them join the team in future assignments.”
The Warriors are expected to go into camp on Wednesday night with their first training session starting on Thursday.Advertisement
