MUSIC legend, Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi, has announced that he will not be performing in Bulawayo as originally planned due to illness.
Tuku was meant to perform alongside South African musician, Ringo Madlingozi, Friday at the Large City Hall.
“We regret to inform our fans that Oliver Mtukudzi will not be able to perform in Bulawayo tonight (Friday) as earlier advertised. This is because he has been taken ill with flu and his diabetic condition is currently volatile. His Doctor has advised rest and is monitoring his condition.
“Please note that the show that was organised by Groove Entertainment will go ahead as scheduled. Groove Entertainment has met all their obligations and done everything to prepare for the show. We regret any inconveniences caused and we would like to promise our fans that we will hold another show in Bulawayo as soon as our dates permit,” said Tuku Music in a press statement.
Tuku and Ringo have shared the stage on many previous occasions and the former even featured in Ringo’s hit track, Into Yami.
The superstar’s health has been subject to speculation from various sections of society, especially from his legion of fans.
In such instances, his combative wife, Daisy, has come out in defence of his husband who has produced 62 albums in a music career spanning decades. Advertisement
