ZIMBABWE international striker Nyasha Mushekwi scored his third goal in the Swedish league on Sunday to help his team Djurgardens IF to a comfortable 2-0 win over GIF Sundsvall.
According to reports from Sweden, the 27-year-old striker, on loan to the Swedish side from South African Premiership giants Mamelodi Sundowns, scored the priceless goal on 63 minutes of the match as Djurgardens collected all three points at
stake.
The result lifted Djurgardens to eighth position on the log standings with seven points after five matches of the campaign.
The goal was Mushekwi’s third in five matches since his move to the club at the beginning of the Allsvenskan season- quite a good return for the Zimbabwean.
The former Caps United striker had appeared to give up on his career after sustaining a serious injury while on loan at Belgian side KV Oostende on February 15 last year.
He had not kicked a soccer ball since then as he struggled to recover from the injury and was once spotted at Walter Magaya’s Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries services in Harare seeking divine intervention to rescue his career.
But now everything appears to be falling in place for the Zimbabwean as he settles in the Swedish league.
He has picked form at a time the Warriors are preparing for the 2017 African Cup of Nations campaign which kick off in June.Advertisement
