DYNAMOS defender, Ocean Mushure, failed to report for duty as coach Kalisto Pasuwa started his first training on Monday in preparation for the African Nations Championship (Chan) tournament.
A disappointed Pasuwa said Mushure had not given reasons for his failure to report for camp.
“He has not given us reasons for his absence but we are going to do with what we have. We can’t force people to come and play for the national team,” said Pasuwa.
“We will just stick with the players who have reported for training. We are only waiting for players from Highlanders and Chicken Inn.
“We had given them a day to rest after they played at the weekend and are expecting them tomorrow (today).
Highlanders have four players called up – striker Knox Mutizwa, defender Teenage Hadebe, Ngobizitha Masuku and Bruce Kangwa.
Chicken Inn are providing goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze, Edmore Chirambadare, Tafadzwa Kutinyu, Lawrence Mhlanga, Danny Phiri and George Majika. A total of 21 players trained under the guidance of Pasuwa on Monday.
The Warriors had a gym session in the morning at Innovate High Performance Center on their first day of training before training at the same venue in the afternoon.
The CHAN tournament designed exclusive for home based players- is expected to kick off in Rwanda from January 16 to February 7.
