GHANAIAN defender Sylvester Appiah scored the only goal of the match as Dynamos got off to a winning start on their return to the Chibuku Super Cup after a 1-0 win over Yadah at the National Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Appiah made sure Dynamos would not be made to rue the opportunities they missed in the early stages of the match when he headed home Godknows Murirwa’s corner kick in the 35th minute.
The win ensured Dembare oved to within a point of securing a berth in the quarterfinals of the season opening Cup competition.
The Glamour Boys moved to 17 points on the Group 1 standings, nine points clear of second placed Yadah.
In an earlier match bottom placed Herentals shared the spoils after a goalless with ZPC Kariba.
Herentals remain bottom of log on three points while ZPC Kariba moved to fourth on seven points.
CAPS United, who are third on the standings on seven points resume their campaign with a tricky tie against fifth placed Harare City at the same venue on Thursday.
Meanwhile Ngezi Platinum booked their place in the knockout stages of the Chibuku Super Cup after a 2-2 draw against ten-man Triangle United in a Group 4 encounter played at Mandava Stadium.
Ngezi wasted no time in grabbing lead through Denver Mukamba inside the fiest 10 minutes before Delic Murimba on the hour mark.
The Rodwell Dhlakama-coached platinum miners immediately regained their lead though Bruno Mtigo before Murimba completed his brace to salvage a point for Triangle.
The point was enough for Ngezi to book a spot in the next round with two rounds of matches to spare.
Also in Group 4 FC Platinum also qualifies for the knockout stages after a dominant 4-0 over Whawha.
Chicken Inn secured a 3-0 win over Bulawayo City in a Group 4 encounter at Babourfields to reach the next round of the competition.
