HARARE giants Dynamos have axed coach David Mandigora after only seven months at the helm, club officials said Friday.
The dismissal was with immediate effect meaning Yogi will not be in charge when the champions take on Bulawayo rivals Highlanders FC in the Sunday ZNA Commander Charities Shield clash to be held at Rufaro Stadium.
Yogi’s deputy Tonderai Ndiraya will be the interim coach assisted by former Warriors goalkeeper Gift Muzadzi.
Kenny Mubaiwa told journalists that Yogi, a Dynamos legend, was fired after he failed to satisfy the club executive committee.
Mubaiwa said Yogi had been given a target of winning a specific number of games by midseason but alas he failed to do so hence his dismissal.
It is widely believed that Mandigora’s exit was engineered by the executive to make way for ex-coach Calisto Pasuwa.
Pasuwa, whose reign as the Young Warriors Coach has been dogged by lack of funding, is rumoured to be willing to re-join his club for whom he won four straight titles before his exit.
