DYNAMOS target Newton Katanha, who once played in the Germany Bundesliga, has failed to make the grade at the Zimbabwe champions following a two week trial stint.
The former Caps United striker who played for Germany Bundesliga side Arminia Bielefeld in 2004 before leaving in unclear circumstances  linked to age controversy, has been one of a dozen trialists hoping to impress new Dynamos coach David Mandigora.
However, team manager Richard Chihoro said Tuesday that the veteran striker has failed to make the cut following an assessment at the club’s training sessions which culminated in two friendly matches at the weekend.
“He will not be part of the squad. According to the coaches he is not the player they are looking at. We are still hunting for some strikers,” said Chihoro.
The former Warriors striker, who had a stint in Malaysia after a career spanning more than twelve years in Europe, has just quit four-time Cambodian champions Phnom Penh Crown where he spent last year after having been lured to the capital city club by Swiss coach Sam Schweingruber who was an admirer of the 31-year-old during his six years in Switzerland.
Dynamos will however, be hoping to tie down Rodreck Mutuma to a contract after he reported for training on Tuesday.
However, negotiations for a contract extension are reported to be still ongoing as both parties are failing to agree on contractual issues.Advertisement
