Dynamos says to review Silva’s performance after the Hwange match game

TROUBLED Dynamos gaffer, Paulo Jorge Silva, will stay on as the coach at the Glamour Boys despite missing the target set for him by the club management.
Management had given Silva a target to collect nine points from three matches against Mutare City Rovers, Caps United and Hwange following a five match winless streak.
Their forwards also failed to score a single goal in those matches.
While Silva cleared the first hurdle by overcoming newly promoted Mutare City 2-1 last weekend, they were beaten by rivals Caps United on Sunday through Dominic Chungwa who scored the only goal of the match which should have sealed the fate of the Portuguese coach.
With most people expecting the club to wield the axe following the defeat to Caps United, Keni Mubaiwa said on Monday they would only make a decision after their match against Hwange at the weekend.
Mubaiwa said the executive would only review the performance after the third game against Hwange this weekend.
“We don’t think it’s professional for us to make a decision at this stage because there is still one more game against Hwange. We were not judging the coach by two games but three games. So that means we will wait until the match against Hwange to review the performance of the team and then make a decision based on that. We have said we want nine points from the three matches but a decision to fire or let him go can only be reached after the weekend game against Hwange,” said Mubaiwa.
Dynamos have dominated the Harare derby since Caps United ran out 2-0 winners in 2009 with Nyasha Mushekwi scoring a double and the defeat to their bitter rivals at Rufaro on Sunday meant that Silva became the first coach to fall to the Green Machine in the past seven years.
