HARARE giants Dynamos, eager to rescue a campaign which appears to be gradually plunging into an irreversible nosedive, have engaged former midfielder Denver Mukamba with a view to signing him on.
Mukamba who had been loaned at Jomo Cosmos in South Africa by his parent club Bidvest Wits is reportedly now a free agent.
His manager Gibson Mahachi confirmed Mukamba was now a free agent and said he had options of joining a club in Zimbabwe or one in South Africa.
“Mukamba is now a free agent and there are options available for him. There are options in South Africa and Zimbabwe and we are currently looking at the options available.
“We will come to a decision which is in the best interests of the player,” said Mahachi.
The former Dynamos midfielder enjoys a good working relationship with coach Lloyd Mutasa since their days at Kiglon before they came to the Harare giants together. It is thought that the relationship is the major reason he will opt to join the Glamour Boys.
Mukamba was one of the brightest prospects in Zimbabwean football before he went to South Africa.
He had a memorable season in 2012 and was voted the Castle Lager Footballer of the Year that year – a feat that saw him attracting interest from Bidvest Wits who went on to sign him on.
Mukamba was also a big fan of former Warriors coach Klaus Dieter Pagels who even gave him the armband to lead the national team at one stage.
But he has been struggling to scale greater heights in South Africa where he saw little game time at Bidvest Wits before he was loaned to Pretoria University and then Jomo Cosmos.
Now he has set his eyes on re-joining the Glamour Boys.Advertisement
