FOUR family members have been hauled before the courts facing murder charges after they allegedly teamed up to beat a sibling over an undisclosed dispute.

The four are Tapera Alexander Chikosha (77), his wife Netsai Mamhare (40) and their children Panashe and Kudakwashe Chikosha aged 20 and 16.

They appeared before Mbare magistrate Kudzai Have and were remanded out of custody on RTGS$100 bail each.

The deceased is Peter Chikosha whose age has not been disclosed.

According to the State on April 12 a minor family dispute arose.

It is alleged the four then teamed up to assault the now deceased as a way of punishing him for wrong doing.

They allegedly assaulted him with clenched fists, booted feet, open palms and unknown weapons.

Peter sustained severe injuries but he was not taken to hospital.

Court heard that instead, the four locked him indoors while his health deteriorated.

Days later a well-wisher discovered what had happened and took Peter to hospital.

He unfortunately died before he could get treatment.

Postmortem was conducted and it was discovered that he succumbed to assault injuries.

Investigations followed leading to the arrest of the four.

Prosecutors say there are witnesses to the alleged crime. The four were represented by their lawyer Bothell Ndlovu.
