AFRICAN low-cost airline Fastjet has announced plans to introduce a new route between Harare and Lusaka before year-end as it seeks to widen its network.
In a statement, the airline’s regional marketing executive Faith Chaitezvi said the maiden flight between the two Southern African countries will start in November.
“Fastjet will operate a new route between Harare and Lusaka with the first flight scheduled for 13 November 2017,” said Chaitezvi.
She said the additional route is the fifth Zimbabwean one for the airline which has completed two years of operation in the country.
Fastjet already flies to Johannesburg from Harare and Victoria Falls as well as Harare to Dar es Salaam besides local flights.
“Tickets for flights between Harare and Lusaka are already on sale at a launch fare from $80 all inclusive.
“Fastjet has made air travel more affordable and accessible for Zimbabweans,” said Chaitezvi.
She said the route is a convenient one for travellers as it further connects them into the region for business and leisure.
It will fly four times per week.
Meanwhile, Chaitezvi said demand for Harare-Victoria Falls and Harare-Johannesburg flights continues to grow as traffic constantly shows solid growth.
The airliner uses Embraer E145 aircraft deployed on the routes and operates more than 80 flights weekly.Advertisement
