Tsholotsho 0-0 FC Platinum
FC PLATINUM dropped two crucial points as they were held to a goalless draw by Tsholotsho in a Castle Premiership match at Luveve Stadium on Saturday.
Looking to cut the gap on leaders Chicken Inn by to two points, Platinum fell short despite creating numerous chances.
They however moved to 45 points, four off Chicken Inn, who play Dynamos (42) on Sunday at Barbourfields.
“We were in control of everything but we lacked creativity in the final third. For me, it’s a golden point and it was a good performance from my boys,” said Platinum coach Mapeza after the game.
Tsholotsho coach Lizwe Sweswe said it was all about survival in the league.
“We are trying to survive relegation and in every game that we play, we must pick up a point or three. This point will help us going forward in the relegation fight,” Sweswe said.
In other matches on Saturday, high riding Chapungu thumped Buffaloes 4-1 at Ascot.
Allan Tavarwiswa opened the floodgates in the 33rd minute, regular scorer Tineyi Chitora added the second on the hour before a Farai Banda own go sealed their fate.
Jacob Muzokomba pulled one back for the soldiers before Patrick Khumbula made it 4-1 for the airforce side.
At Rufaro, ZPC Kariba are enjoying some fun in the sun as they edged Flame Lily 1-0 via a James Dauda strike in an early kick off.
In the second match of the afternoon at the same venue, Harare City and Triangle drew 0-0 with Ronald Mudimu missing from the penalty spot for Kelvin Kaindu’s men.
