FC Platinum sign Masuku on loan

FC PLATINUM have acquired talented midfielder Nqobizitha Masuku on a year’s loan from Bulawayo side Bantu Rovers.
Masuku, the national under 20 captain, was also being targeted by Highlanders but Platinum have a long relationship with Bantu having acquired impressive twins Kelvin and Elvis Moyo two seasons ago from Methembe Ndlovu’s side.
Masuku joins Wellington Kamudyariwa, Brian Muzondiwa and Emmanuel Mandiranga as the new faces in coach Norman Mapeza’s side, although he will miss out on the Caf Confederation Cup as he joined after the registration deadline.
Platinum held their awards night to honour their best players from a successful 2014 season on Wednesday in Zvishavane.
They ended 2014 with four trophies, CG Msipa Charity Shield, Independence Trophy, ZNA Charity Shield and the Chibuku Super Cup, which earned them the ticket to represent Zimbabwe in the Confederation Cup.
Veteran midfielder and skipper Thabani Kamusoko was named Player of the Year and the Players’ Player of the Year taking home $5000.
Goalkeeper Petros Mhari won the most consistent player and Chibuku Super Cup player of the tournament, pocketing $2200.
Top goal scorer was Donald Ngoma, who also picked up the president’s special award for his loyalty to the club, earning a total of $1750.
The most improved player was Tatenda Dzumbunu while Njabulo Moyo won the most disciplined player. Each took home $1000.
Wisdom Mutasa, Obrey Chirwa and Marshall Mudewe also won the player of the tournament for the Uhuru cup, ZNA Charity Shield and CG Msipa trophy, winning $700 each.Advertisement
