FC Platinum’s Mapeza delighted with first away win

FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza feels Saturday’s 3-0 away win at Triangle could herald an improvement on their form on the road.
It was the platinum’s first away win of the season which also spoiled ZPC Kariba’s return to their refurbished Nyamhunga Stadium after spending the whole of last season and a part of this term at their adopted Gwanzura Stadium in Harare.
Walter Musona and Ray Sibanda were on target for FC Platinum while ZPC Kariba defender scored an own goal to carry the day for Mapeza’s side.
Mapeza was a happy man after witnessing his charges knit a second successive win.
“A job well done by the boys. This is what we have been looking for when we travel for away matches,” Mapeza said.
“I will always say if that we were never bad whenever we lose or draw away on the road. We had been just unfortunate not to score. Our hard work and persistence was finally rewarded against ZPC Kariba.
“We knew such a day would come and I believe this is the start of good things whenever we are away from home. Everyone now truly believes that we can come up with some good results whenever we travel.”
The result put in danger ZPC Kariba interim coach Oliver Mataba’s chances of being handed the job on a permanent basis.
