THE Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of fertiliser company Windmill Pvt Ltd has been arrested for allegedly raping his brother’s 15-year-old daughter.

George Rundogo, 58, appeared before Harare magistrate Tilda Mazhande Tuesday. He was advised to apply for bail at the High court as the case was remanded to April 3 for trial.

Court heard that the complainant is a student at All Souls Mission High school in Mtoko and a daughter to the accused’s step brother.

According to the state, allegations against Rundogo arose on December 29 last year.

Prosecutors say, on the day in question, the accused phoned the teenager and asked her to come and collect money for her upkeep.

The two met in central Harare after which Rundogo allegedly took the girl to his office at Long Chen shopping mall along Harare- Bulawayo road.

He reportedly gave the schoolgirl some $900 and then went into another room where he took a mattress which he laid on the floor in his office.

Court heard that the company boss asked the teenager to lie on the mattress, but she refused after which he pushed her down and raped her once without protection.

The girl then went home and did not disclose the attack to anyone. The matter came to light last week after the girl missed her period.

Prosecutors say she confided in one of her lady teachers who helped her to report the abuse.
