HARARE football giants Dynamos are being sued by a marketing company which they had contracted to set up their Golden Jubilee sms platform project.
Excellent Queue (PVT) Business Corporation has filed a $16,000 lawsuit against the Zimbabwean league champions.
According to summons filed at the High Court on November 18, the $16,000, is for the set up costs incurred by Excellent Queue and includes $1000 paid to Dynamos as Agent License Fees.
The marketing company is also claiming another $15,000 as compensation for the damage done to their reputation and $140,000 for the income they claim they lost due to Dynamos’ conduct.
“Judgment for US$15,000 for loss of reputation, image, goodwill and business relations suffered by the Plaintiff because of inconveniences caused to third parties because of the Defendant’s actions.
“Judgment in the sum of US$140,000 being prospective income, the defendant’s conduct has deprived the Plaintiff of income from value added service sms revenue,” reads the summons in part.
The project for which the Harare giants had contracted the plaintiff failed to take place after Dynamos pulled out of the project after they felt that Excellent Queue had no capacity to provide the platform.
The Golden Jubilee celebration was to commemorate Dynamos’ 50 years of existence. Former players like Edward Sadomba had also been commissioned as Jubilee ambassadors.
The set-up of the sms platform would have seen DeMbare fans getting the opportunity to vote for their best-ever Dynamos player via an SMS voting system.Advertisement
