FIVE suspects have been arrested in Bulawayo for smuggling 360 kilogrammes of dagga from South Africa via Botswana into Zimbabwe.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirms the arrest of Gordon Nkowu (58), Nkosiyabo Moyo (57), Shepherd Nkomo (43), Beven Sibanda (40), and Isaiah Moyo (31).
“The five suspects were intercepted along Bulawayo–Solusi Road in Bulawayo while driving a Toyota Hilux Single Cab, registration number DN08VG-GP, towing a trailer with registration number KW27Y2-GP, which was laden with 360 kg of loose dagga valued at ZIG 10,800,000.00,” said Nyathi.
The dagga was smuggled from South Africa via Botswana into Zimbabwe.
