FOREIGN AFFAIRS Minister Sibusiso Moyo was Wednesday taken ill over an undisclosed ailment at a private Harare hospital.
Sources told NewZimbabwe.com Wednesday night the country’s number one diplomat was admitted at the hospital.
The one time high ranking soldier, who became a celebrity soldier when he appeared on ZBC-TV announcing President Robert Mugabe’s overthrow by the military November last year, was conspicuous by his absence during the swearing in of the Commission of Inquiry into the August 1 post electoral violence.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa was said to have visited Moyo in hospital before he left for the United Nations General Assembly in New York Wednesday. Moyo was supposed to form Mnangagwa’s delegation to the high profile UN summit.
Moyo’s two mobile phones were not reachable Wednesday night while Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa was not picking up calls.
Her deputy Energy Mutodi said he was not aware of any reports linking Moyo’s admission in hospital.
