Cameroonian international Christian Epoupa has joined Botswana Premier League (BPL) outfit Orapa United ahead of the new 2018/19 campaign.
The former Dynamos striker signed a two-year deal with the Orapa-based club.
Epoupa left DeMbare before the season started after the Harare giants failed to pay him his dues. He had a year left on his contract. The Glamour Boys made efforts to bring him back, but they gave up.
Earlier this year, the 25-year old underwent trials with former South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Bidvest Wits, but the deal could not be completed due to an injury.
Dynamos gave up on luring Epoupa back to the club.
Epoupa was unhappy with DeMbare’s failure to pay him his dues and ended his relationship with the Harare giants prematurely earlier this year. He had a year left on his contract.
The Glamour Boys were now making efforts to bring him back, but new club president Solomon Sanyamandwe has revealed that the door had now been closed.
“I don’t think Christian is coming back. We will pay him what he is still owed by the club, and we would rather look elsewhere for some strikers in preparation for 2019 season,” said Sanyamandwe.
“Of course, there has been a general shortage of quality strikers across the board if you look at our Premiership and that is why we are considering looking elsewhere for players.”
