Former Miss Zimbabwe named Miss Intercontinental Africa in Germany

TENDAI Bongani Hunda, the 24year old former Miss Zimbabwe, scooped the Miss Intercontinental Africa title at the just ended Miss Intercontinental pageant held in Magdeburg in Germany.
Sixty-three countries competed for the coveted Miss Intercontinental title.
Tendai garnered so much support from Zimbabweans all over the world and friends of the country and got the 4,733 votes she needed to win the Africa title.
She said she appreciated the support adding, “the solidarity was simply amazing. It showed how much sportsmanship can unify people all over the world”.
From the time Tendai arrived in Germany she showed, grace, humility and patriotism to for her country, knowing that she was an ambassador and promoting Zimbabwe and its tourism.
The ultimate title went to Russia, while first runner up went to Philippines and second runner up went to USA. Venezuela and Zimbabwe made up the top 5.
Other categories were National Costume won by Indonesia, Miss Photogenic won by Thailand as well as swimwear, evening wear and question and answer session.
Miss Congeniality went to Spain while winner of Internet popularity went to Vietnam.
Tendai, thanks to Zimbabweans all over the world, polled in at 4,733 votes which, combined with her eloquence, confidence and determination, earned her a spot in Top five.
She stood shoulder to shoulder with the powerhouses of pageantry that is Philippines, USA, Venezuela and Russia.
Tendai’s reign as a Miss Intercontinental Africa will see her work with the girls in Zimbabwe and across the whole continent.
She has a passion to see Zimbabwe’s pageantry and “modelling industry thrive and taken to another level”.
