FREE to Worship, the gospel group product of the UK-Zim talent pool has released a scintillating gospel offering aptly titled, “Free to Worship 3”.
In the group’s continued collaboration with established musicians from Zimbabwe the album features US-based Zimbabwean gospel sensation and Mirira Mangwanani hitmaker Shingisai Suluma.
Suluma joined Free to Worship for their sold out concert, at the 1000-capacity Grove Theatre in Dunstable, UK earlier this year.
She was also asked by President Robert Mugabe to perform at his 89th birthday. The Zimbabwean strongman said his favourite song from the soulful singer is Munongondichengeta Baba, a thumbs-up to the Lord for his unwavering kindness.
Free to Worship’s third instalment, contains an eclectic mix of sounds, ranging from familiar gospel tones to contemporary English, Shona and Ndebele sounds whilst successfully dabbling with traditional grooves.
The immaculately presented 30+ strong team puts on a stellar performance, professionally executed; with honey rich vocals and a hugely talented band that proves Zimbabwean musicians are possibly the best that Africa has to offer.
An EGEA Concerts production, Free to Worship is sponsored by Forward in Faith Ministries International.  The group has successfully united worship leaders, gospel singers and instrumentalists from many churches, including some group members who are reside in the USA.
The Free to Worship’s sound fusion is a distinct breath of fresh air that is altering the gospel music landscape in Zimbabwe and the diaspora.
Obert Mazivisa’s tune on the Album ‘Meso’ is catchy and uplifting, and leaves audiences asking for more.  Dumi Mhlabi, a newcomer to the group also leads ‘Rumbidzwayi’ a quick favourite with audiences for its innovative lyrics and high octane energy.
This album delivers, and raises the bar very high in the process, leaving you with that fuzzy feel good feeling of being proud to be Zimbabwean.
Free to Worship will this week perform samples off their third offering at the Forward in Faith Ministries this weekend at the Bethel Convention Centre in Birmingham.
According to the group the album will be officially launched on November 30 at the upmarket Hilton London Kensington Hotel.
