MAMELODI Sundowns winger Kudakwashe Mahachi’s trial with French club AS Monaco is scheduled to take place after the World Cup.
According to Kick Off, the 20-year-old who signed with the PSL champions during the January transfer window but spent the remainder of the season on loan at Highlanders, is set to leave in July at the end of the World Cup tournament which rolls into life on Thursday, in Brazil.
Mahachi is yet to kick a ball for Sundowns, better known as the Brazilians, but there was no problem in approving his trial.
“The trial has been set for after the World Cup, when the pre-season kicks off.
“Mahachi is a good player and we all know that it shouldn’t take more than a week before they make a decision,” Sundowns communications co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa said.
His departure is likely to decimate Highlanders who will also lose the pair of defender Milton Ncube and midfielder Rio Moyo to Cape Town Ajax and Mpumalanga Black Aces respectively.
Goalkeepers Munyaradzi Dhiya and Aerial Sibanda are also set to leave the club with reports that there are clubs in South Africa also interested in their services.Advertisement
