ZIMBABWE international defender Munashe Garan’anga has joined Danish side Lyngby Boldklub on loan from FC Copenhagen for the 2026/27 season.
The 25-year-old centre-back’s move was confirmed by Copenhagen on Thursday ahead of the new Danish league season.
Garan’anga’s loan spell will run until the end of the season, with Copenhagen hoping the move will provide him with regular first-team football.
Copenhagen sporting director Kristjaan Speakman said the temporary switch was the best option for all parties.
“Munashe needs regular playing time at this stage of his career. As we build our squad, this opportunity reduces for him over the next 12 months and Lyngby Boldklub represents a great opportunity to make an impact for a team – it’s the optimal solution for all parties,” said Speakman.
Garan’anga joined Copenhagen from Belgian side KV Mechelen in 2024 and remains under contract with the Danish champions until 2028.
The move to Lyngby is his second loan spell of the year after he spent the first half of 2026 on loan at Scottish club Hibernian.
The Zimbabwe international has made appearances in European competitions during his time at Copenhagen and remains an important member of the Warriors setup.
The latest loan move is expected to give Garan’anga an opportunity to secure regular first-team football, continue his development and regain consistent playing time while remaining contracted to the Danish giants.
