Gorowa likely to miss duo for Chan

WARRIORS coach Ian Gorowa could lose key players for January’s Chan tournament as Highlanders goalkeeper Munyaradzi Diya and Hwange defender Erick Chipeta are in South Africa for trials with Golden Arrows.
The duo left the country at the weekend to begin trials at the Durban club.
With the players looking certain to be in the Warriors Chan squad which is limited for locally-based players, Gorowa could lose the players if they win contracts with Arrows.
Gorowa has already lost forward Tendai Ndoro to Black Aces while Chicken Inn winger Kuda Mahachi is waiting for a response from Mamelodi Sundowns following a recent trial stint.
Diya’s contract is expiring at the end of this month while Chipeta is on loan to Hwange from Sprouting Academy.
George Deda who facilitated trials for the duo said they are likely to be signed by Arrows.
“Diya is a good goalkeeper and everyone saw that during the previous season. His consistence saw him being selected among the Soccer Star of the Year finalists,” Deda said.
“Chipeta also had a fine season and just like Diya he is on the Soccer Stars calendar. Arrows are keen to assess the players and they could be signed.”
Gorowa is expected to name his final squad at the beginning of the year.Advertisement
