WARRIORS defender Teenage Hadebe has been recognised for his solid debut season in Europe after being named in the Turkish Super League Team of the Season
Hadebe was one of the outstanding performers for his side Yeni Malatyaspor during the just ended 2019/2020 campaign despite his side struggling.
The 24-year-old former Chicken Inn and Kaizer Chiefs player was named along with veteran former Liverpool star Martin Skertl, who starred for champions Istanbul Basaksehir, as the best two centrebacks.
The all-star team also features Congolese Fabrice N’Sakala and Brazilian Junior Caicara as the other defenders.
Hadebe is the only player from Malatyaspor in the select following a debut that saw him being named in the team of the week several times.
Despite his performances, his team finished in the bottom three.
In fact, Malatyaspor could have been relegated but they got a reprieve from the Turkish Football Federation, who ruled that no club will be relegated because of the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Hadebe, who recently tied the knot with sweetheart Michelle, could however be on his way out of the club.
His future at his current club Yeni Malatyaspor has been subject to speculation, amid interest from two Turkish giants Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
Trabzonspor were also reported to be targeting Aston Villa midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, though he seemed to have settled for his current side Villa.
Hadebe started his football career with Bantu Rovers before joining Highlanders (2015) and Chicken Inn (2016).
He then moved to South Africa in July 2017 where he played for glamour club Kaizer Chiefs before moving to Turkey in July last year.
