HARARE City coach Taurai Mangwiro has conceded that they have a tough assignment when the face Zanaco in the first round of the Caf Champions League.
City host the Zambians on the weekend of 11-13 March before travelling to Zambia for the second leg two weeks later.
In securing passage to the first round, City overpowered Madagascan side AS Adema 6-3 on aggregate.
While they were expected to easily sail past the Madagascans, City had to concede two goals at home before coming from behind to win 3-1 away last Sunday.
Mangwiro is well aware that facing Zanaco will provide his men with a real test.
“Obviously as you progress further in this tournament that is when it gets tougher. So we are expecting some stiffer challenge from Zanaco,” Mangwiro said.
“From what I know about them, they are a very influential side in Zambia and they have played in these CAF Competitions a number of times before. But we will try as much as possible to be strong and give a good fight. Obviously we learnt a number of lessons against Adema and we want to improve when we play Zanaco.”
Mangwiro might have to work more on his defence which was exposed by Adema.Advertisement
