Harare City in ZPC Kariba test

HARARE City’s bid to defend the Chibuku Super Cup faces a stern test when they travel to Nyamhunga Stadium, to meet ZPC Kariba in a quarterfinal tie on Saturday.
City won last year’s edition of this competition, under former coach Taurai Mangwiro.
Now Moses Chunga is at the helm and is looking to not only winning his maiden piece of silverware, with City but to keen the Chibuku Cup at the Town House.
But facing ZPC Kariba could prove to be a gigantic task for City.
Not only are ZPC Kariba a strong side, that could make life difficult for Harare City, home advantage could play advantage for Sunday Chidzambwa’s outfit.
At this time of the year, the searing Kariba temperatures could be punishing for visiting City.
“We will take this game just like any other we play in the league. There will be no special treatment for ZPC Kariba,” Chunga said.
“This is a Cup game and it could be tricky but we will approach it just the way we usually do our business. ZPC Kariba are a strong side and they have a good coach whom I have learnt a lot from. I know that any slip-up we could be out.”
Interestingly, Chunga once worked with Chidzambwa at Dynamos a few years after the turn of the millennium.
