AFTER assembling what appears to be a championship-winning squad, Harare City are now geared up for the new PSL season.
The capital city club last week returned from their two-week training in Nyanga.
The league had provisionally been scheduled to kick-start on Saturday, but has been postponed by the PSL who are still finalising the broadcasting programme with their partner.
A new kick-off date would be released at Sunday’s PSL annual general meeting.
Harare City coach Taurai Mangwiro said they are now ready for the new season.
“Our preparations for the new season have been going on well for us. I can say we are ready for the PSL challenge,” Mangwiro said.
“We have just come back from Hwange where we were finalising our preparations. I am happy the team is taking shape. Yes we are ready but we will gel more as the season goes on.”
City have roped in defenders Lincoln Zvasiya and former Dynamos centre-back Themba Ndlovu, while offloading Arnold Chaka.
Mangwiro arrived at United from Caps United with goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube, defensive link-man Tendai Samanja and attackers Honey Chimutimunzeve and Nicholas Alifandika.
Following a league title near-miss in 2013, City had a nightmarish outing last season where they escaped relegation on the last day of the season.Advertisement
