Hard times for Mwanjali in South Africa

FORMER Warriors defender Method Mwanjali was denied a clearance by his South African club Mamelodi Sundowns as he attempted to engineer a last minute return to Mpumalanga Black Aces last week.
Mwanjali spent a season on loan at Aces and had been promised that he would be released this January, but when the transfer window closed last Friday, he did not have a clearance and now has to wait until June to make a move.
The defender has not played any official PSL games this season, following Sundowns’ decision of not registering him for the 2014/15 campaign.
A source said:  “Method’s situation is tricky and he can’t understand why the club has not released him.
“They promised to release him in January, and now the window period is closed that means he has to wait until June.
“You know that he trains on his own without anyone and it’s frustrating for him. Sometimes he just comes in for a few minutes to check in and returns back home to train alone. It’s not an ideal situation for him.
“No one really knows why they can’t just release him because he is not registered at all, meaning they don’t need him. This is not good for the player.”
The former Hwange, Shabanie Mine and Caps United defender, together with Nyasha Mushekwi, are still on the club’s payroll, but are not playing.
Mushekwi was sent on loan at KV Oostende in Belgium – now home to Knowledge Musona, but on his return, Sundowns had exhausted their allocated five foreign spots.Advertisement
