Highlanders climb PSL table after win over Hardrock FC

Date:

Highlanders coach Benjani Mwaruwari could not hide his excitement after picking up his first away win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Hardrock FC at Chahwanda Stadium.

Wednesday’s result marked Hardrock FC’s first home defeat of the season since their promotion early this year.

The win marked Mwaruwari’s third victory of the season.

The result saw Bosso leapfrogging up the log standings, now in position 10 with 17 points.

“We fought all the way, and my players showed character.”

“Although there are areas we have to improve, I am happy with the result,” said Mwaruwari.

Meanwhile, his opposite number, Kelvin Kaindu, lamented missed opportunities during the first half.

“It’s a result in football; we congratulate Highlanders, but I feel we could have scored one or two goals in the first half.

“Who knows, with a little bit of luck, we could have won,” said Kaindu.

Despite the defeat, Hardrock FC maintained second spot on the log with 24 points, two behind log leaders CAPS United.
