HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu is not getting carried away by their stay at the top of the PSL log.
The Bulawayo giants returned to the top on Sunday after beating How Mine 2-1 at Barbourfields Stadium.
Gabriel Nyoni and Simon Munawa grabbed Highlanders’ goals while Edmore Muzanenhamo scored for How Mine who lost to Kaindu’s side for the first time since their debut PSL season last year.
Highlanders returned to the top of the standings where they have defending champions Dynamos but Kaindu is not reading much on topping the log standings but focusing on their shortcomings in the How Mine win.
“It was good beating How Mine because we really needed the three points despite them being tough opponents. The victory did not come easy for us.”
“We have to look at how we conceded their goal and make sure we do not concede in such fashion in our next matches.
“There are some shortcomings we have to work on. That need to correct our mistakes will keep us on our toes.”
Highlanders have conceded 10 times this season where their title chase has been slowed by six draws. They have scored 25 goals, the highest in the league this season so far.
