Highlanders, How Mine win

Highlanders 2-0 WhaWha, Triangle 1-2 How Mine
HIGHLANDERS beat Whawha at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday as Triangle suffered their second loss in a row when they fell to How Mine at Gibbo on a sad day for the miners’ coach, Luke Masomere.
Masomere’s wife collapsed and died on Saturday evening but How Mine gave their coach the perfect tribute with two first half goals in a space of seven minutes, both headers from veterans Tapiwa Khumbuyani and Limited Chikafa in the 12th and 19th minutes.
Triangle pulled one back through Chastern Ndongonda in the 64th minute as the hosts suffered their second defeat in a row after going down 3-2 to FC Platinum last weekend.
At Barbourfields, Highlanders bounced back from last week’s loss to Chicken Inn when Obadiah Tarumbwa thrust them into the lead after 24 minutes before Knox Mutizwa added the second in the 67th minute.
The win saw Bosso move to the sixth spot with 17 points, one behind How Mine and six behind leaders Chicken Inn who lost 1-0 to Hwange on Saturday.
At Vengere, Caps United beat Dongo Sawmill 2-0 to put behind their in-house problems which have seen striker Rodreck Mutuma quitting and Stephen Makatuka going AWOL.
Valentine Musarurwa and George Nyirenda scored the goals that mattered for the Green Machine as they moved into eighth place with 16 points after four wins, four draws and three losses.
Dongo remained at the basement, still winless, after 11 matches and there were unconfirmed reports that coach Shadreck Magurasave had been dismissed on Sunday.
