FORMER England-based striker Thomas Chideu has landed at Castle Premiership giants Highlanders and is in line to get a three year contract.
The 18-year old former Prince Edward High School student scored in his debut in the black and white colours of Bosso when they lost 1-2 to Southern Region Division One side Black Boots on Saturday to make an immediate impression on new coach Bongani Mafu.
Sensing the talent in the player, Mafu immediately asked his executive to give him a three year contract with the option of another year.
On Tuesday, as Highlanders resumed their preparations for the 2015 season, Chideu was part of the squad that worked on their physical fitness at Hillside Dams in Bulawayo.
He spent some time in England in 2013 on an exchange programme while at Prince Edward and scored 34 goals in 14 matches for Oswestry School, attracting the attention of English Premier League side Sunderland.
Highlanders also welcome back troublesome prodigal some Mthulisi Maphosa after the former Young Warriors midfielder was pardoned at last week’s disciplinary hearing for his various cases of misconduct last year.
Midfielder Joel Ngodzo has also been a new lease of life by Mafu, but was working out at a city gym with Erick Mudzingwa.Advertisement
