HIGHLANDERS began their pre-season on Monday with new signings Welcome Ndiweni and Khumbulani Banda training with the team.
Besides the two, How Mine reject Ocean Mpofu who is hoping to win a contract with the Bulawayo giants also attended the opening training session.
The biggest surprise at Highlanders’ training session was sacked assistant coach Bekhithemba Ndlovu who was helping new assistant Mark Mathe in the absence of Zambian coach Kelvin Kaindu who is attending a coaching course in his native country.
Also spotted at Bosso training session was striker Thulani Manwiwa of Division One side Bulawayo Jumbos together with Black Boots goalkeeper Mduduzi Nkomo.
Forward Cleopas Dube returned from a six-month loan stint at newly-promoted Bulawayo Chiefs.
Highlanders chairman Peter Dube confirmed their new signing saying they had also added Valentine Ndaba.
On Ndlovu, Dube said the youthful coach was just facilitating a smooth flow of technical business.
“He is just here for a few weeks until the return of the head coach. It is a misconception that we fired Bhekhi. We just did not renew his contract and he will always be a Highlanders son since he is a championship-winning captain during his days,” Dube said.
Most senior players are yet to renew their contract which expired on 13 December last year.Advertisement
