Highlanders target Tripple B striker

HIGHLANDERS have set their sights on snapping Tripple B forward Aleck Marime.
Hot on the transfer market after ending last season on 11 goals, Marime is also said to be on How Mine’s radar but Highlanders have emerged as front runners for his signature.
Highlanders are said to have offered Marime a three-year contract as coach Kelvin Kaindu seeks to craft a championship-winning squad for the 2014 season.
Welcome Ndiweni has quit FC Platinum to sign for Highlanders as most senior players are still to pen new deals following the expiry on old contracts on Tuesday.
“There are a number of players the coach has said he wants to bring on board but we cannot reveal them at the moment. We are also yet to renew contracts of our senior players but we hope to do that very soon,” club chairman Peter Dube said.
Midfielders Joel Ngodzo and Rahman Kutsanzira are retracing their footsteps to Highlanders after quitting the club to join FC Platinum and Caps United respectively at the beginning of the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
FC Platinum are also set to lose Charles Sibanda who has openly expressed keenness to join Highlanders or Dynamos.
Hwange defender Erick Chipeta is also reported to be on the verge of joining Highlanders together with Triangle’s diminutive midfielder Pascal Manhanga.Advertisement
